Information we collect

When you send us a quote request or question through a form on this website, we collect:

• your email address and phone number;
• details about your project, such as the type of work, budget, whether the property is residential or commercial, the street name, postal code and city of the property, and your message.

Only your name is required. Please don’t include sensitive information (for example health or financial account details) in the message.

If you call us, we receive your phone number and the time of the call. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

When you visit the website, we and our service providers also collect technical information automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, how you arrived at the site (for example from a Google ad), and similar usage data. See “Cookies, analytics and advertising” below.

Why we collect it

We use the information you give us to:

• respond to your request and contact you about it;
• prepare an estimate or quote and plan your project;
• keep a record of our communications with you; and
• if you become a customer, manage the project, invoicing, warranty and our legal and tax obligations.

We use website usage information to understand how the site is used, measure which of our ads lead to enquiries, and improve the site. We do not use your form details to send you marketing emails.

Consent

By submitting a form, calling or emailing us, you consent to us using your information for the purposes described above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see “Contact us”), subject to legal or contractual restrictions. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to provide a quote or complete work for you.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

This website uses Google Tag Manager to load the following Google services, which set cookies or similar technologies in your browser:

• Google Analytics measures visits and how pages are used (for example pages viewed, scrolling, clicks and form use). We see this information in aggregate.
• Google Ads conversion tracking records when a visitor who clicked one of our ads sends a form or calls us, so we can tell which ads work. When you submit a form, Google’s tag may send your email address or phone number to Google in a hashed (encoded) form, to match the enquiry to an ad click. Google does not receive your message or project details.
• Google Ads call tracking may show a Google forwarding phone number on the site, so we can count calls that came from our ads.
• Remarketing: Google may use cookies to show our ads to people who have visited this website, on other sites and apps.

Google processes this information under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can limit it by turning off personalized ads in your Google ad settings, installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or blocking or deleting cookies in your browser. The site still works without these cookies.

The map on our Contact page loads from Google Maps only if you choose to open it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business and this website, and only as needed for the purposes above:

• our website hosting provider, which stores the website and form submissions;
• our email provider, which delivers form submissions and our emails to our team;
• Google, for the analytics and advertising services described above; and
• subcontractors or suppliers working on your project, if you become a customer, limited to what they need to do the work.

We may also disclose information if required or permitted by law.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information stored outside Canada is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and authorities.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Enquiries that don’t lead to a project are deleted within two years of our last contact with you. If you become a customer, we keep project and billing records for as long as needed for warranty, legal and tax purposes, generally up to seven years after the project ends. If we use your information to make a decision that directly affects you, we keep it for at least one year after that decision, as PIPA requires.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, password-protected accounts with limited access, and providers with industry-standard security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to the people who need it.

Your rights: access, correction and deletion

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it and who we have shared it with;
• correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete; and
• delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
